Victoria Beckham's ELLE Cover Shoot

Debut pictures of Victoria Beckham's cover shoot for Elle magazine with none other than the God of fashion, Mr. Karl Lagerfield. Oh, to be a fly on the wall in that room.

It seems every man and his dog has succumbed to Victoria Beckham's charm, with her collections pictured on hordes of A listers including Eva Longoria, Cameron Diaz and Karlie Kloss.

So I guess we've all forgotten about Victoria's VB Jeans years then? Don't worry, Vicky. I'm not one to dwell on the past.

Ellery AW12

I want to introduce to you Kim Ellery’s gorgeous fall collection.
The elite Australian line is sought after by stars such as Madonna, and has featured in magazines such as US Vogue and Harpers Bazarr. Kym Ellery has found her self thrusted into the fashion world, dressing some of the worlds most influential models and celebrities.
It's clear to see from Ellery’s Fall’12 collection, with her basic shapes and feminine silhouettes teamed with androgynous pieces, why she has had and will continue to have such tremendous success in the fashion world.

My post for USED vintage.

One of this season's hottest looks, straight from the AW12 catwalk, is squares. That's right. It's cool to be square.
Seen at Johnathon Saunders and Proenza Schouler amongst others, the geometric print was everywhere.
Used have found a gorgeous vintage, oversized, geometric tshirt for a fraction of the price. Team with clashing printed paisley trousers and heels for the perfect look.
It's time to throw some shapes!

Hakaan, AW12 RTW

Hakaan’s Autumn Winter 12 ready-to-wear 90’s inspired collection has completely blown me away. Loose leather trousers, leather biker all in one. Seriously, I am in love. The tough, androgynous feel contrasts with the feminine and futuristic silhouettes to create a chic and stylish go-to collection for the autumn months fast approaching. The bold shoulders, metallic aesthetics and padded quilting highlight Hakaan’s attention to detail and show his desire to celebrate the female body.
The collection focuses more on structure than colour with heavy paneling, zip detailing, pleating and peplum features. The muted tones of black, bronze, khaki, dark wine and metallic blue allow attention on the shapes to come to the forefront. Hakaan cleverly marries the boyish structure of the collection with feathers and silk, symbolising his love for the power and sexuality of women.
For me however, the element of Hakaan’s collection that should be celebrated most is how easy the clothes are to wear. The collection can stand alone, or work alongside other pieces allowing personality and individuality to come to the fore. I for one cannot wait to get my hands on a piece of this collection. I guess I’ll have to get saving.
Hakaan, I salute you.

Intern, Shimtern

You know the one. Young, naive intern desperate for her big break running around after self-righteous somebodies answering to their every need. That’s me. The intern part anyway, the latter not so much. (Thank God).
For about 2 months now I’ve been interning at Foundation Agency, a fashion sales and PR agency, and I’m enjoying it so much. So much infact, I thought it warranted a blog post. Lucky you!
It’s so exciting to get an insight into the nitty gritty, behind the scenes world of the fashion industry. Sitting in on buying appointments, attending trade shows, meeting some of my favourite designers including Olivia Rubin, and of course seeing all of the SS13 collections before anybody else (!) has been such an amazing opportunity.
One of my favourite projects so far at Foundation has to be creating a trend forecast representing three of the brands’ collections which are looked after at the agency. The project, I was told, was then to be sent to Trilogy, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. Not only that. I was picked to model the clothes for each of the brands. HOW EXCITING!!
The shoot took place on a rooftop in London. I had so much fun styling all the clothes and trying on all the gorgeous outfits. It really was a day to remember.
The internship has undoubtedly confirmed my love for fashion and my desire to work within the fashion industry in the future. The scary thing is, the future starts now. Yikes!

AW12 Trend pieces for USED.

Psst! Wanna know a secret? Go on then, ‘cause you asked so nicely.
USED have sourced some of the most fabulous pieces for this season to ensure you're on top of all the AW12 trends without having to fork out anywhere near those couture prices. Mr. Lagerfield could learn a thing or two from us.
Trend Number 1; Wine Notes. What’s better than burying yourself in a glass (cough-bottle-cough) of your favourite glass of vino rouge? DRESSING yourself in the good stuff. Well not literally, but this season one of the key trends straight off the catwalk is the colours of the vineyard. It’s now totally acceptable to be a wineo. Hooray! Head-to-toe was the favoured approach to the trend on the catwalks of Alexander Wang and Versace, but if you’re not brave enough for that just yet, try this gorgeous two-tone red sheer shirt. And at just £12, you’ll have enough extra pennies to buy that bottle of red you need oh-so-bad on this grey Friday afternoon. We won’t tell if you don’t.
Trend Number 2; The Dark Arts. Think the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Givenchy, Versace and Alexander Wang all celebrated the sexy and strong look of leather for AW12. The more belts, buckles and studs the better. It’s fierce, it’s feisty and my word is it fashionable. This leather-look mac is the perfect way to conquer the trend at a fraction of the Givenchy et. al. prices. Pop up the collar, team with black leather biker boots and douse those lips in sexy red lippy. There’s a new girl in town. You’d better watch out!
